Driver Hunt

Police are continuing to hunt for a driver who fled the scene of a crash after a car overturned in south Devon late on Monday night.

Police units and the force helicopter were sent to Market Street after a crash in Torquay at around 10pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called just before 10pm last night following reports of a car on its roof on Market Street, Torquay.

“Units attended and a search was undertaken to locate the driver, supported by the police helicopter and dog unit, but these searches were unsuccessful.

“The road was closed whilst clear up and recovery took place; this was completed at around midnight.

“Police are continuing to make follow-up enquiries in relation to this incident.”
